Hannah Perry

b. 1984, Chester.
Lives and works in London, UK.

IMAGES    CV
Hannah Perry's diverse body of work, which spans installation, sculpture, and video, tells autobiographical stories mixed with shared cultural language, delving into the complexities of gender and class, and their intersectionality. Manipulating materials to create installations, including Manual Labour (Baltic Contemporary), Bodyshop (Galerie Kandlhofer), or GUSH (Somerset House), Perry substitutes the body for the industrial to explore ideas of societal roles, and physical and mental health.

Recent and upcoming projects include: Manual Labour, Baltic Centre of Contemporary Art, Newcastle, UK (2024); Digital Diaries, Julia Stoschek Foundation, Dusseldorf, Germany (2024); STREETSPACE BANGER, Kunsthalle Recklinghausen, Germany (2024); No Tracksuit No Trainers (NTNT), Chester Contemporary, Chester, UK, 2023; The Momentary, Crystal Bridges Museum of Modern Art, Bentonville, USA (2019); Smashed Window and an Empty Room, Kunstverein, Hamburg, Germany, 2019; Liquid Language, Arsenal Contemporary Art, Toronto, Canada, 2019; and GUSH, Somerset House, London, UK, 2018.

Perry has performed and her work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts, London, UK; Serpentine Gallery, London, UK; the Barbican Centre, London, UK; Towner, Eastbourne, UK; Stedelijk at Trouw, Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, The Netherlands; MoMA, Warsaw, Poland; the Sculpture Center, New York, USA; and Arsenal Contemporary, Montreal, Canada.
